Filling in the course assessment section in the course description

In the course description, we kindly ask you to describe the course assessment criteria, i.e. what is expected from the course participants to be able to complete the course and get their diploma.

The template has been pre-filled with a criteria for completion set to 80 % attendance. If you have other/specific criteria for completion of the course (e.g. 100 % course participation, a final exam, a written paper, a presentation or something else) please fill out the description accordingly.

Course evaluation

All GSNS and GSTS transferable skills PhD courses must be evaluated using the Graduate Schools’ standard evaluation questions. At the same time, it is important that the course lecturer is able to gather feedback on aspects that are unique to the individual PhD course and ensure that the evaluation reflects the specific content and teaching activities provided. For this reason, the evaluation template consists of seven standard questions provided by the Graduate Schools, plus up to five additional questions defined by the course lecturer. We strongly encourage you to make use of the opportunity to include your own questions.

All course evaluations are accessed, managed, and completed directly in Brightspace, AU’s Learning Management System. When your PhD course is being set up, the PhD Course Administration will create the course space in Brightspace and add the standard evaluation questions. Please remember to add your own (up to five) supplementary questions directly in the system.

Once the course has concluded, PhD students will complete the course evaluation in Brightspace, where course lecturers can also access and review the evaluation results.

We encourage you to highlight to your PhD students the importance of completing the course evaluation.
