Herd management strategy to reduce emissions in dairy production

PhD defence, Tuesday 22 April 2025, Long Chen

Long Chen

During his PhD studies, Long Chen researched the potential of herd management strategy to reduce emissions in dairy herds. While herd management is a daily practice on dairy farms, it is often overlooked in emission mitigation efforts. His research demonstrated that applying herd management strategies can effectively mitigate emissions while also enhancing dairy production.
The new research findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the interactions between herd management, emission mitigation, and dairy productivity, providing essential insights for the sustainable development of dairy production.

The PhD study was completed at the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Faculty of Technical Sciences, Aarhus University.
